Good Old Games adds OS X support, brings classics back
Classic game seller Good Old Games has added a selection of OS X titles to the service, highlighted by the current title The Witcher 2. Both free and paid titles are available, with a total of 51 games -- mostly old DOS-based classics from the 80s and 90s -- ready for purchase. All games have been released with no digital rights management, allowing for maximum user flexibility in installations.

The games are a mix of custom DOSBox wrappers, and native code. Newer titles like FTL, Spacechem, and the aforementioned Witcher 2 share space with some 8-bit titles -- nearly the entire Ultima series, StarFlight 1 and 2, and SimCity 2000. Eight titles are available for free, including Ultima IV and Beneath a Steel Sky. representatives have announced support for OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and greater on Intel-based Macs. System specifications vary per title. WINE support for other titles in the GOG library is being investigated.
