Apple replacing third-generation Apple TV with Wi-Fi issues
Apple has initiated a program with its service providers and authorized resellers enabling repair shops to replace some third-generation Apple TV units that exhibit Wi-Fi problems. Issues reported include dropped connections, inability to find a network, and problems with connecting to a network.

According to the document sent to Apple repair shops that was procured by 9to5mac, the manufacturer has found that "a very small number of Apple TV (3rd generation) products might experience one of these Wi-Fi related connectivity issues: cannot locate network, unable to join network, dropped or intermittent connection." If an Apple TV manifests any of the predetermined conditions, and falls within a range of serial numbers, then the unit will be replaced. In come cases, a replacement unit may be granted up to two years past the original purchase date.
Apple TV units potentially affected must have the last four letters of the serial number as "DRHN". Additionally, the third and fourth character of the serial must be H9, HC, HD, HF, HG, HH, HJ, HK, HL, HM, HN, HP, HQ, HR, HT, HV, HW, HX, J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, or J9.

My serial number ends in DRHN but doesn't contain the mentioned 3rd and 4th letters. I will say it consistently drops out while music is streamed to it...typically once or twice a minute. I wonder if the recall batch will be expanded.
