Photoshop CC gets Smart Sharpen, upsampling, other tech
One of the core pieces of today's Adobe announcements is Photoshop CC, its rebranded and updated photo-editing software. Among new features in the software is Smart Sharpen, which analyzes images and attempts to produce the best-possible sharpening, while minimizing any halos or noise. The process can be tuned as needed.

Another addition is new upsampling technology, which blows up images while trying to retain detail and sharpness. Multiple shapes, paths, and vector masks can now be selected simultaneously; in the same vein Adobe has implement things like editable rounded rectangles, and the ability to edit any shape before or after it's created. Camera Raw edits can be newly applied as a filter to any layer or file, and the Raw component has been upgraded to version 8, which Adobe promises should give more precision.
Some previously-revealed features in the software include Shake Reduction, Conditional Actions, Smart Object support for Blur and Liquify, and faster, more responsive 3D painting. Adobe is moreover folding in 3D editing and image analysis tools that were previously restricted to Photoshop Extended.
