Lines already well underway at Moscone West for WWDC
A lineup is already well underway for the eagerly-awaited start of Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference and in particular the keynote address, scheduled for 10AM Monday. Though consumers and others not attending the event will be looking for possible news on new Apple products and software, developers are most likely to be focused on the previews of iOS 7 and OS X 10.9, and what if any adjustments they will need to make in their own programs to either compensate for under-the-hood changes or to take advantage of new features incorporated into the two updated platforms.

The line outside Moscone West began late Sunday evening, with the pictures below taken around 10PM Pacific Time -- about 12 hours prior to the kickoff event, the keynote that is expected to announce both the OS changes as well as possible some hardware announcements. Top rumors and speculation include the announcement of a refreshed MacBook Air, possibly the entire MacBook lineup and an updated Airport product set that will feature support for 802.11ac, a new networking standard that is fully backward-compatible but uses the 5GHz bandwidth range to extend speed and coverage.

Also hoped for are updates to the company's venerable Mac Pro model, and perhaps updates to the Apple programs known collectively as the iWork and iLife suites. Developers are hoping for news of some internal reforms within iCloud to make it easier for them to incorporate the service into their own products, and there is even some speculation that attendees will hear news of a forthcoming entirely new Apple product (such as the long-wished-for Apple HDTV or wristwatch). The keynote will be helmed by Apple CEO Tim Cook, while other Apple executives are expected to handle portions of the keynote's demonstrations, along with other speakers.
