Microsoft bringing Age of Empires to iOS, may port other titles
Microsoft is allegedly using a partnership with Japanese mobile developer KLab to bring some of its gaming titles to iOS and Android before the year is out. According to a report in Japan's Nikkei business newspaper and a later confirmation by Microsoft itself, at least the original Age of Empires is coming and may be just the first of a series of ports. The company said that earlier reports of additional Xbox Live-based game ports had "incorrect information" and said there were no announcements beyond Age of Empires.
The real-time historical strategy series Age of Empires was first developed by Ensemble Games and published by Microsoft in 1997. The series has seen seven titles and three spin-offs in total, and sold over 20 million units. KLabs is best known for its Gigabot Wars and Lord of the Dragons titles for iOS. While the updated version of the original Age of Empires is hardly the only game /a> to be offered by Microsoft on the rival mobile platforms, it is the first that wasn't originally mobile-centric.

Well I certainly won't worry about this draining my battery or testing my video res. I'd be more accepting of the AOE II than this one, which was never officially released for Mac, much less Mac OS X.
