HDR Expose 3 adds merge alignment, de-ghosting functions
Unified Color has released HDR Expose 3, an update of its HDR image creation tool for Mac and Windows. An emphasis of v3 is on additions allowing handheld photography, including ghost removal and keyframe-based merge alignment. Other features have been implemented as well though, namely adaptive tone-mapping -- for targeting specific parts of an image -- and a new Image Browser, which helps quickly identify bracketed exposures.
A variety of components have been improved. The maximum brush size in Dodge & Burn has been increased for example, and UC's 32-bit Beyond RGB color space now applies to all actions. The Batch-Merge option has been streamlined, as has the Tools palette, and a greater range of tone-mapping presets are included.
HDR Expose 3 is $119 new, or free for people who bought Expose 2 on or after April 24. The Mac version requires OS X 10.6 or later; critically, UC says it has improved HDR Expose's compatibility with OS X 10.8 and Windows 8.
