Rumor has updated Retina MacBook Pros waiting until October
New Retina MacBook Pros -- upgraded to Intel's Haswell platform -- won't ship until October, claims the China Times. Apple suppliers are allegedly suffering yield problems with Retina displays, delaying internal timetables. Some analysts have been anticipating new Pros in September, the same month that new iPhones are likely to be announced; Apple will often use its fall events to debut products that aren't related to the events' highlights.

Costs for SSDs and high-resolution LCD panels have fallen in recent months, which could in theory allow Apple to lower prices for Retina Pros closer to their non-Retina counterparts. DRAM costs have risen however, and so the Times' sources suggest that new Retina models will probably cost as much as current ones, which start at $1,499 for 13 inches and $2,199 for 15 inches.
