Yojimbo 4 switches to new sync service, gains fullscreen support
Bare Bones has launched Yojimbo 4, an update of its organizer software for the Mac. The latest version adds support for a new sync service, which lets users carry data across multiple computers. Bare Bones notes that it has deliberately skipped using iCloud for sync, owing to problems it has with Apple's implementation. Instead it has turned to another platform, Wasabi Sync.

Other improvements include fullscreen support for the main Yojimbo window and information items, and graphics upgrades for Retina displays. The software costs $30 new, or $20 as an upgrade from any previous edition of Yojimbo. The sync service costs $3 per month after the first 30 days.

$30 to buy the program. $36 a year for syncing. What is wrong with this picture?

Too little, too late. After waiting a year for the promised iCloud syncing ability to materialize, I finally gave up and switched to Evernote. BareBones should have made the decision to abandon iCloud sync for an alternate sync method a long time ago; based on their blog entries it didn't take too long for them to realize trying to get it to play nice was futile.
