Ableton Live 9.1 beta adds dual-monitor support, new Push sequencer
Ableton has begun a public beta of Live 9.1, a future update of its digital audio workstation. The biggest addition is dual-monitor support, allowing musicians to keep important tools up side-by-side. Some given examples include pairing the Arrangement and Session Views, or keeping the sample display or MIDI note editor handy.
For people using Ableton's Push hardware controller, the beta includes a new melodic step sequencer. Using the device's pads, people can now enter notes manually or play them in real-time. In fact, any of Live's automatable parameters can now be step-sequenced and edited directly from the Push encoders.
The last major feature is a new rendering algorithm for better audio quality when exporting from higher sample rates to lower ones. The beta is a free download for existing users of Live 9 Suite, Standard, or Intro.
