App Store adds 'Kids' category with games, learning apps
As expected, Apple has added a '<a href="" rel='nofollow'>Kids</a>' category to the App Store. Users can view content geared for specific age groups, such as "Best for Ages 5 & Under," with a primary focus on educational apps. The listings also include popular games for kids, along with rankings for top paid apps, top free apps and top-grossing titles. <br />

Parents can quickly navigate to additional curated groups that focus on interactive stories, science themes, creative play, informative entertainment, and words and numbers.<br />

The new section joins 23 existing categories, ranging from weather apps to games and productivity titles. Apple maintains a separate listing for general education apps, with a broader range of content that includes apps for college students and other adults.
