Briefly: Pixelmator reaches v2.2.1, iPhone 5s/5 performance comparison
Pixelmator has been updated to v2.2.1 in the Mac App Store. The update introduces a brand new file format that is said to use a number of modern OS X technologies to improve the speed of image editing. Compared to previous releases, the software should now open and save documents twice as fast, and has also gained the ability to automatically save changes in the background. Along with various other improvements, Quick Look support has also been enhanced to allow users to preview Pixelmator documents without needing to open them first. The <a href" 10&tmpid=3909& com%2Fus%2Fapp%2Fpixelmator%2Fid407963104%3Fmt%3D1 2">image editing software can be purchased from the Mac App Store for $15.
iPhone 5s compared to iPhone 5 in side-by-side video

Tom Richardson of Redmond Pie has posted a new video (seen below) to his YouTube channel that provides a performance comparison of the iPhone 5 and 5s. A number of tests are used to compare the devices, including Geekbench 3, SunSpider, and a gaming test with Infinity Blade III. While the Geekbench test gives the iPhone 5s an overall score that is nearly double that of the iPhone 5, side-by-side web browsing and app launches showed that real-world gains were mostly negligible. The Infinity Blade III comparison showed similar results, however Richardson did note that, while minimal, graphical improvements were noticeable on the iPhone 5s.
