Apple updates Aperture, releases Safari betas to developers
Apple has issued an update to its pro-level photo management app Aperture, bringing it up to version 3.5.1 in a free update that corrects several flaws, most notably fixing Temperature & Tint White Balance so that it works correctly. For developers, Apple is now seeding two new Safari betas - one for Lion and Mountain Lion (10.7 and 10.8 respectively) and one for OS X Mavericks (10.9). The Safari betas, which are not yet officially released, focus on viewing and annotating PDF files, along with password autofill troubleshooting.

The respective Safari betas are number 6.1.1 (for Lion and Mountain Lion) and 7.0.1 (for Mavericks), suggesting that they will be released soon. In addition to further PDF and password testing, Apple has asked developers to focus efforts on Web Inspector functions alongside accessibility features and general website compatibility. The Aperture update, available for all Aperture 3.x users, resolves issues with face-detection overlays and addresses an issue with metadata field entry when arrowing between photos, along with the usual stability improvements.
The Safari betas are available from the Mac Developer Center on Apple's website. The updated Aperture 3.5.1 is available through Software Update or the Mac App Store.
