Red Giant announced today the release of its updated audio/video sync tool for Shooter Suite, <a href="" rel='nofollow'>PluralEyes 3.5</a>. Able to analyze the audio from a variety of devices and automatically sync it to multiple video tracks, the editing tool aims to save days of work in the usually-tedious process of unifying unsynced audio and video. The latest version of PluralEyes offers improved and expanded support for more media types, and support for AVCHD camera that include support for spanned clips. <br><br />

PluralEyes 3.5 integrates with BulletProof, Red Giant's footage backup and preparation tool. BulletProof sends imported footage to PluralEyes when one is ready to begin file syncing, and allows footage to sync immediately and in an organized way. Soon available in a beta format, PluralEyes 3.5 is due to be released during the second quarter of 2014 for $200, and those seeking to upgrade an existing version will pay only $80.<br />

<strong>Shade 3D 14.1.1 update, offers new 3D Printing Assistant</strong><br />

Mirye Software has announced the immediate availability of <a href="" rel='nofollow'>Shade 3D</a> v.14.1.1, an update for the professional 3D modelling, rendering, animation and 3D printing tool. The newest version introduces a 3D Printing Assistant component -- a diagnostic, analysis and automation tool for ensuring 3D models are ready for printing to 3D, allowing users to interactively analyze and correct common problems. The 3D Printing Assistant is optimized for exporting to formats such as STL, which is used by partner services such as Shapeways. Other Shade 3D v. 14.1.1 features include 3D Text Primitive improvements, improved Subdivision Options for Booleans, granular control over subdivision surfaces added to the boolean modelling system, and more. A free upgrade for existing users, Shade 3D is available starting at $100 for a Basic edition.<br />

But PluralEyes only use the audio to sync, and fails much more often than FCPX.
On many projects forced to Avid MC, I found it faster to also load the media into FCPX, do the MultiCam sync there, and then manually link up the clips in Avid (6.5) using the timecodes from FCPX..
