is there a way to stop network drives from disappearing coming out of sleep?

I have an SMB share I keep my MacBook connected to all the time - it's my main file server. Problem is, whenever I come out of standby, if the wireless doesn't reconnect quickly enough, the network share disconnects and I have to remap it.

Is there any way to force it to persist? I realize that I can't browse it without a network connection, but I'd rather it just automatically reconnect itself when I'm on my network.

Which OS? On Mountain Lion, I get asked whether to disconnect, retry or ignore, and if I do nothing, the dialog just goes away and the connection is reestablished.

This is AFP over local network, though. SMB may be more annoying.

I get the option to ignore, but if I do that, it doesn't actually work. The icon for the share persists on my desktop and in the Finder, but if I try to access it, OS X completely locks up and I have to force-quit Finder.

I haven't tried just leaving the dialog up and waiting to see what happens, though.
