problem with png icons
hi there…i'd like to replace some of my osx icons to make some organization visually easier..but when i download the new png files i just see the generic png icon (the one with the little boy on the beach and the magnifying glass on top of the picture) instead of each individual picture i download.

any idea why osx isn't recognizing the new icons?

many many thanks!!

ps. when i double click on the downloaded icon it previews the picture just fine…only when i look at the icon i only get the generic png picture….grrr!! :(

pps. using 10.6.8.

- Open the .png file in Preview
- Command-A
- Command-C
- Select the folder you want to modify, press Command-I
- Select the icon being shown at top-left of the info window by clicking on it.
- Command-V to paste the png into it.

Or you could use an app like the excellent CandyBar.
