iMac reacts to AppleTV remote even after disabled - EyeTV?
Ever since getting eyeTV running on my iMac, it will always react to my AppleTV remote - it causes iTunes to play and adjusts the computer volume. I've already gone Sys Prefs > Security > Advanced > Disable remote control infrared receiver; this makes no difference. Pairing the iMac with a different remote changes nothing, it reacts to every Apple remote I have.

It doesn't matter if EyeTV is running or not. It doesn't matter if the EyeTV dongle is plugged in or not. The remote will always control iTunes, so every time I'm trying to watch something on Netflix, the iMac starts playing music or a video.

I'm at a loss for what to do here.

EyeTV does that, a friend of mine has the same issue. Only way I know of to fix it is to cover up the IR sensor. It's in the front Apple logo on most models.
