I thought about you in physics class. You were a daydreamer. A sassmouth! And, not infrequently, a bit of a gigglepuss! Somehow I doubt twenty years of amphetamines and failure have done anything to improve that.

Thanks for the notice, I was wondering when the new season was starting.

11:30pm, I'll be sitting on the edge of my bed with a big bowl of popcorn.

Can't f**kin wait!

osiris May 29, 2008 03:52 PM
Freakin awesome!

Can't wait for this, but may have to wait until Monday to watch it.

That's what I get for years of meddling with super science.

Dakar the Fourth May 29, 2008 03:53 PM
I'll be waiting as my friend will be Tivoing it for some joint watching.

Jawbone54 May 29, 2008 06:05 PM
Somehow, Seasons 1 and 2 keep magically downloading onto a computer that I might or might not have access to. I'm not sure how that's happening, but I'm sure I'll view them and see what all the fuss is about once this friend of mine whose computer I might or might not have access to tells me that they're done.

My $0.02: Patrick Warburton is the greatest current comedic voice actor out there.

voodoo May 30, 2008 05:57 AM
Lovely! This means there will be some TV this summer!?

Laminar May 30, 2008 01:20 PM
Guess whose furnished duplex didn't come with Cartoon Network. I will have to catch it somehow.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 01:22 PM
Perhaps you've heard of this thing. It's called the internet. It's sort of a big deal.

Laminar May 30, 2008 01:30 PM
Well, is there a way to view the episodes (for free) legally, or will I have to resort to downloading them, even though my girlfriend banned me from any more illegal downloading?

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 01:32 PM
If I recall, you can see them before anyone on the AS website. Check on fridays.

Laminar May 30, 2008 01:41 PM
Today is Friday.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 01:42 PM
...and?

Laminar May 30, 2008 01:47 PM
I checked.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 01:49 PM
You might be screwed for legal alternatives. Edit: Is your girlfriend paranoid or just moral?
Guess which answer I'll respect more

Ass fighting should have #1.

That was the moment I knew I'd watch this show until the end of time.

ort888 May 30, 2008 02:49 PM
And where was his fight against the Ninjas on Trexes?

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 02:49 PM
I guess it might not be techinically fight, but how he took down the VBs mom was legen-****ing-dary.

sek929 May 30, 2008 03:13 PM
That was the first episode I saw and I laughed uncontrollably at that moment.

Agreed that Brock killing two pirates with his ass is just about the most brutal thing ever.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 03:18 PM
I also love the nicknames Brock gets: Swedish Murder Machine, Superkillguy

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 03:25 PM
The captain mullet episode killed my friend. That bartender was ruthless.

Edit: Oh good.

sek929 May 30, 2008 03:25 PM
Hockey Hair, Captain Mullet

Jawbone54 May 30, 2008 04:32 PM
Only two more days before my friend's legal download completes.

And it's definitely okay, because it's a friend...not me...a friend. And he'll pay for the DVDs as well.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 04:34 PM
"Franken-Mullet" is the correct nick, according to wikipedia.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 04:39 PM
sek, I was hoping to get a few more cool nicknames.

Mind-taker!

The Monarch: Your name is bitch! And I own you. You're property! And when I'm tired of having sex with every hole God drilled in your slender frame... King Gorilla! You got a cigerette?
There! I just sold you for a cigarette! And I don't smoke!

sek929 May 30, 2008 05:29 PM
The Monarch: King, I need my bitch back, here's your cigarette.
King Gorilla: F*** you, gimme a dollar!

So do you think we'll get the answer to the big Dr. Girlfriend cliffhanger in the first episode os season 3?

And what do you think it is?

Is she a man? His long lost sister? Pregnant with Dr. Ventures child? In love with Dr. Venture?

Paranoid. I got in trouble with my university twice for downloading torrents of episodes of The Office and Heroes. The first time was a warning, the second time was behavioral probation and loss of internet access. The third time is legal action, most likely from both the University and the copyright owner.

So I'm not allowed to download stuff.

Dakar the Fourth May 30, 2008 09:25 PM
Paranoid I can sympathize with.

sek929 May 31, 2008 10:40 PM
So I've decided to break down and watch it online tonight.

Dakar the Fourth Jun 2, 2008 09:10 AM
Loved the new opening.

Great aside about the Bjork thing, too.

sek929 Jun 2, 2008 12:57 PM
I have a feeling that opening was for this episode only, but yeah, it was sweet.

Probably my favorite part of the episode was the ending where Phantom Limb finally tracks down Manotaur  Or when The Sovereign pops up and Monarch whispers "It's David Bowie!"

All in all it was entertaining and it gave some sweet-ass backstory. Of course this only leaves me thirsting for more....

ort888 Jun 2, 2008 01:03 PM
Yeah, I thought it was a good episode overall... but it was kind of hard to follow. It had a very bizarre plot structure and almost no action.

Still, the backstory was great.

So, was Dr. Girlfriends big reveal that she was ordered by the Guild to have Monarch stop arching Venture? That seems a little anti-climatic. They never 100% spelled it out, but I'm guessing that is what it was.

As for the opening, I'm sure it was just for this episode. They did the same last season, where they had Rusty and Jonas Jr. in the opening rather then the kids.

It was right back to normal after the one episode.

I didn't have much trouble following it, particularly after the re-view at 3.00am.

Just as long as they don't abuse showing backstory too often, I'll be happy.

Eriamjh Jun 2, 2008 10:58 PM
I thought the episode was classic Venture Brothers. Disjointed, pops up in the middle of a plot line, etc.

Anyone notice the names? Maybe they were mentioned in the past, but I don't remember.

sek929 Jun 2, 2008 11:13 PM
Dr. Girlfriend calls Phantom Limb 'Hamilton G. Phantimose' in an episode.

Thanks for the [ SPOILER ]
:bicker:

ort888 Jun 3, 2008 01:57 AM
Oops, sorry.

Still, come on, it's a VB thread and the new season just started. What were you expecting in here?

- - e r i k - - Jun 3, 2008 02:09 AM
Opinions on the episode. I'm a seeing it tonight.

ort888 Jun 3, 2008 02:11 AM
The episode was good!

- - e r i k - - Jun 3, 2008 06:59 AM
Yeah, the episode was ok. I guess they are just setting up the rest of the season. Of course the Season 1 ending / season 2 opener had me spoilt. That really was some legendary TV.

Dakar the Fourth Jun 3, 2008 09:11 AM
We knew she was Sheila before. And I don't think it's unexpected that we talk about an episode the night after it airs, Erik.

Dakar the Fourth Jun 9, 2008 10:35 AM
Decent episode last night, though I'm sure not one to be remembered among the best by season's end. It was one of those weird ones where it seems to get more frantic and then ends with a whimper rather than a bang.

ort888 Jun 9, 2008 11:11 AM
I really liked last night's episode, but you are right in that it ended very suddenly. I would have liked...

sek929 Jun 9, 2008 01:22 PM
It was a pretty sweet episode.
