When keeping it unreal goes wrong...
This was so absurd I had to post it for the laugh (or the cry).

The school has a list of 'absolutes' that states no weapons, even if they're imaginary.
I'm assuming this some hippy school and not just a regular public school, because WTF.

Best comment I've heard: "This wouldn't have happened if the other kids had been armed with imaginary guns."

Is it my imagination, or is suspending a second grader in and of itself almost as ridiculous at the reason he was suspended?

In my mind they would have to be a sociopath in the making for it to be justified.

That's what I was thinking. Or someone who was really violent.

If someone's really violent as a seven-year-old, I'm not sure if suspension is the answer.

If it is, you may be asking the wrong question.

I don't get the rationale. I understand we want to catch the disturbed early, but I don't think anyone will be standing around a mass shooting in 15 years saying, "We should have saw this coming when he was throwing those imaginary grenades at empty boxes."

It reminds me of the war games we played as kids in the school yard during recess. We had sticks (imaginary guns) and grenades (pine cones), and we threw the cones at each other as hard as we could. It was almost like dodge-ball, but it hurt a little more. The only thing that we got in trouble for was hitting Mrs. Evans' car. 3 of us were paddled for that. :hmm: Them for hitting the car and me for using it as cover.

As I know I've mentioned before, we played Killer in the halls at high school, with fake guns.

SInce the days of GoldenEye I've wanted to play maps set in offices and stores and other locales me and my friends knew. Not because I want to kill my friends IRL, but because it helps the immersion if takes place in settings you know.

What in ****s name is that?!

I remember I had semi-realistic beretta and SMG water guns. Before the days of the orange tip. I can't blame them for that change.
