I just bought a Newer Tech miniStack case and put my 120GB, 7200RPM drive into it to hook to my 24"iMac.

I did some testing. Maybe the results are obvious and I just don't understand, sorry in...

startup/wake up noise? 751 Views / 3 Replies
I just got my 24" iMac about a week ago.
I love it.
Just a question about a noise I hear when it starts up or wakes from sleep.
I have been using it everyday, testing and evaluating it for speed...

Just bought my first 24" iMac for personal use. My company has used macs and iMacs for the past 17 years and we have had little to no reason to ever use Applecare.
I get a little paranoid though...

Just did it. 638 Views / 2 Replies
Couldn't wait any longer. Just ordered a 24" iMac w/ 2GB, and NVIDIA 7600 video.
Hope I don't regret it.
I was holding out for minor tweaks to the iMac line, but now it is more looking like major...

mduell: really not that technically minded on the that stuff. But if Leopard is 64bit capable there has to be at least some benefit to running it on a 64 bit capable processor as opposed to a 32bit...

I was in the market for a 24" iMac but was also considering the 20". So I would commit to the 20" and use the $500...

Re: 4,980 Views / 24 Replies
I agree I could always wait for something better, and I only waited this long because I was so close to an update when I had finally saved enough to buy the computer.
I had bought a B&W Rev A and...

I was afraid of that. I figured the most likely time for an iMac update will be when they release Leopard. I can't, in good conscience, buy a iMac now and then have an update in 3 months, and I...

I was ready to buy a new iMac about the middle of last November but figured I could wait it out 6 to 8 weeks...

I appreciate all your responses so far and for the most part I am back on the iMac as my primary choice. A couple of you mention the "sell the iMac and get a new one in a few years solution". I...

I have a B&W G3/350MHz Mac that I got back in 1998. It is still very useful and has a 900 MHZ CPU upgrade, 512MB...
