There is a Unsupported Airport Admin tool from Apple for WIndows. But I couldn't find anything in that that would cause the Modem on the Airport to dial or disconnect.

In any case, I was finally able to get it to authenticate me when I trashed the admin keychain.

I did run the repair permissions, but not fsck...

I remember reading about doing that, but isn't there some special way to reboot after running it to actually effect the fixes? I seem to remember...

Looks like you can, the installer recognizes that it is server or client installed and then you can choose to archive the old and install the new....works pretty slick.

I have a B/W G3 with a built-in modem, when I am booted into MacOS 9 I can 'see' the modem and use it. When in MacOS X, none of the applications know a modem is there and the Apple Profiler does not...
