Sounds like a bad port on your router. You wouldn't think this is very common but it is. I spent 2 weeks diagnosing a network problem once before I narrowed it down to a port on a brand new switch....

Make sure you have some form of authentication for the computer if you plan to leave that port open on your router.
If you are just going to use the windows logon make sure you have good passwords...
