Agreed. With my previous OS X (10.0-10.2) installations I always installed BSD, but for some reason I thought I could do without it and save the disk space. Guess not!

I fixed it. In case anyone is wondering, you have to have the BSD subsystem installed to use Secure Delete.

You'd think Apple would have removed this item from the Menu if you can't use it...

Ok, figuring it was a priveleges issue, I decided to log-in as the Root user. From there I set the priveleges for the hard drive of Everyone: Read & Write. That fixed the immediate Icon...
