I personally would shoot for the faster, newer model over the refurb for that price...

When at home I tend to use an Apple Pro Keyboard and Optical Mouse to reduce wear and dirt on the iBook. Plus with the Pro Keyboard i have a little more slack on the mouse cord on the right side.

I would hold on to it just in case you may have to send the machine to Apple for repairs.
That way they can't blame any problems on third party RAM and find something to charge you extra.

The crack would be nice, anyway, download the latest driver for the iMate from Griffen. Sometimes 9.2 will not see it (the iMate) after waking from sleep mode so you will have to restart the computer.
