my gtx275 has been flashed with a gtx285 bios which ups the clocks a bit as well. i bought on ebay for $150.

I'm amazed at the resale prices for current and last generation models on Ebay. Tempts me to just buy the current Westmere model and not worry about the refresh. I can always add a new video card...

just noticed that amazon.com is no longer showing the "click to see price" notice for the 2 primary mac pros. now they are displayed...

thinking that apple may have relaxed the price restrictions...

i found the gtx285 896mb model i own to have an evga gtx285 label in the bios, not gtx275. don't know if it was hacked or not, guessing it may have...

i still like the 24" because the 512mb video memory is very helpful in games like world of warcraft and others. to get 512mb in the 27" i'd have to buy the ati 4850 which is nice, but another $135.
