When I try to connect to a server the connect times vary from immediate to several minutes. Is this a bug or do you think the server is trying to resolve my IP address...

I have a g3/700 iBook and Tiger is a dramatic improvement over 10.2.8.

If you're used to 10.3 on slower hardware you may not be as impressed.

Just have to say that Tiger makes using this old iBook (g3/700) bearable again (from using 2.8). While not fluid resizing windows is much better. Safari renders pretty quick...Expose is just cool....

That's good. I'm still using 10.2.8 on my 700mhz iBook. I plan on getting 10.4 and it's a good thing that .4 appears faster than .3 which is faster than .2. ;)

Uhm...10 years of use from any desktop class machine is unrealistic. That doesn't mean there are still folks with working 8088 laptops (I have two) but I don't use them anymore.

Some of the problems you mention are also evident on their old Sparc release. The sound didn't work out of the box on my Ultra 10.

I seems that SuSE puts 99% of their effort into the i386 world...
