Mine was standard except the screen and I upgraded the processors.

I have not compared it to a 17" glossy, but looking at the 15" glossy and and seeing how much it picked up the background in the store was enough to convince me it would drive me crazy here at home....

It's great. Upgraded from a 17" G4. The screen is a lot brighter. The black keys are easier to see in low light than the grey keys. It doesn't get nearly as hot as the G4 does/did.

What version of osx is on the new pb and what version of ard is it? I've seen/read about a lot of problems using older version of ard with 10.3.8. Make sure you've updated to the latest version.
