The workaround described on xlr8yourmac.com works fine on my Lombard. Everything is faster. QuickTime playback is acceptable. It's an easy hack, go see for yourself.

Did you write such a letter? And do you think the Metadata petition will not have success? We are at 190 signatures now, and still gaining momentum.

Dear Adam,
when will Apple learn? Support means: support. That's all. So be a good sport and sign. Don't you think saying "I will do x" obliges one to do x?

If Ford "supports" my car and it...

Also not fixed (that is: not added): graphics support for the Lombard PowerBook. The screensavers, for instance, crawl at about 1 frame per 3 seconds. Speed is the big problem.

It turns out that in /usr/share/init/tcsh there is actually a README file that explains how to do what I wanted to. So now I have my aliases loading when I login to the shell. Works like a dream.

Where is ~/.tcshrc? 1,516 Views / 3 Replies
I can't seem to find .tcshrc or, for that matter, .zshrc or .cshrc anywhere on my system. It isn't in the user's home directory, where it should be, nor elsewhere. There is a file...

Hack request: vertical dock 808 Views / 135 Replies
Can anyone create a hack that places the Dock vertically on the right side of the screen? This worked well in NeXTSTeP and for a good reason, too: there's more room there.

That seems very unlikely, because it would leave no time for any beta testing. DP3 is very impressive, but it's not a finished OS, and I would hope a lot of work is being put into it before release...
