Automatic processor performance setting on Rev. A 12" G4 PB? 495 Views / 1 Replies
I was setting up a new iBook for my uncle yesterday, and I noticed in the Energy Saver pref panel a setting for "Automatic" processor performance. My Rev. A 12" G4 Powerbook only has "highest" and...

Nah, nVidia doesn't release official drivers for Windows ever either. They just suck period. ATI's monthly updates on Windows are just annoying. My compulsive need to install every version takes...

For now, Windows Media is the only way to get HD DVD content. It's not important to most people, but for those of us with HDTV sets, it's very cool. I don't know if that's what you saw, though.

In my experience, both systems are about the same in this sense in that they depend on how much crap is loaded at boot. Maybe my experiences aren't typical, but my XP machine with a 1.5 year-old...

I do, and I'd still do that most of the time. But when I know I'm not going to use the machine for a while, it'd be nice to have a quicker, more convenient alternative to shutting down completely,...

I forget what Apple used to call it, but I want the ability to save the contents of RAM to disk and shutdown (like hibernate on Windows). For laptop users, I think this is the biggest OS 9 feature...

That's because despite lower clock speeds, the Centrino actually outperforms the Pentium 4. It's quite a chip. If they had become affordable sooner, I probably would have passed on the PB.

I'd like to see support for hibernation, as it's called in the Windows world. I believe it was called "save to disk" or something in Mac OS 9. Sleeping my PB for too long uses too much battery...

I've tried everything. The only thing it's even close to accpeting is 1920x1080. For that, I get a garbled image, which is probably because it expects interlaced. Every other resolution produces a...

The PB doesn't do 1280x720 or any resolution with 720 lines.

That's not too promising.
