I have to agree here - Pascal or Modula2 is a great place to start, but it will be nearly impossable because most schools seem to have moved to Java.

I had the same problem a while back getting the whole download over a dialup line. If you do not fear the command line, try the "reget" option for ftp. It worked for me. Only problem was figuring out...

Not sure if you got this fixed - but the error seems to be that your source is bigger than 1 CD - so it wants to split the output file in two. Put a %d in your file name and see if it works.

At first it went great. Then the machine started to work kind of wierd - I can not even explain it. It never crashed - just did bizzare stuff. I tried to re-install 10.0 then 10.1 and it would bomb...

I don't think you will get DV through USB, but I have a firewire/usb combo card in my 8500 and it works pretty good.
