I would go for an external one:
- faster
- cheaper
- if SD drives you still keep you PB intact to work with.

If I were you I would think in buying an external one, so it fails you don�t lose your PB, and there is not such a big diferrence in price.
Though mine is in a 867 desktop, from 2 years ago, I think...
