Compared to the 830, this new one seems to have an improved scanner: 4800x9600dpi vs 2400x4800.

The dimensions & weight on the new model are also a tad smaller and lighter.

But wouldn't that re-encode the file? In other words, make a copy of a copy...? If I had an .aiff I guess that would work, but I don't think it is what I want to do with my .m4a
