You aren't going to be able to fix this through any resource modification. Views can be programatically added to windows (infact they have to be in order to be shown). An example would be toolbars....

- Less colors will not speed anything up
- Less TRANSAPRENCY will (especially for menus)
- SS likely causes a slowdown, but its probally negligable

Well the "look and function" part is kind of universal. I mean that is totally dependant on the Window Manager you choose to use, and any WM can be installed on pretty much any distro of Linux.

There is one main reason you wont see a 3D MacOS for awhile: there's no point. 3D interfaces just dont make sense on a 2D screen. Sure Looking Glass has some nice...

No, if you are a good designer you use the tools to make the best design and you find a printer that caters to you. Where are you getting this mentality? You don't sacrifice workflow for software...

So far it seems to use much much less CPU. There's a CPU monitor included now and it doesn't default to 25% =) Looks like with all my widgets open it idles at 2% (G3/500).
