Definitely an uncomfortable issue, and I hope they take care of this sooner than later. I've found no practical long term solution to the problem so my only hope is that Apple will change the design...

2Gb here as well, although my brother has 3gb in his MacBook Pro. The truth is, most apps don't utilize 3Gb yet but 1Gb is not quite enough either.

External drives don't really solve the latency because they are connected via USB so that acts as a bottleneck. An internal 7200RPM drive would work better.

To be honest I think the biometrics reader was a very wasteful mod because they are extremely easy to hack. Simply rubbing your fingers with sandpaper will fool half the thumb readers out there.

Not quiet. The RAM is manufactured at different quality levels, and higher quality RAM lasts longer and has fewer problems.

Corsair is a good brand, they do not manufacture themselves but the RAM...
