I don't think it's that it's Intel...i think it's whether or not you have the X11 features installed. My PowerMac G4 and MacBook Pro were both 180 because I haven't installed the X11 package.

I would definately take it into an Apple store before your warranty runs out. It very well could be a problem with the drive and they could replace it for free. That really shouldn't be an issue...
