for some reason my iPhoto just does not work. I click on the icon, the program opens up on my screen and then the waiting sign takes over the screen saying it's "Loading photos" and that's all i get...

My iphoto doesn no longer want to open anything. i click on it and it opens the program and then the waiting message "Loading photos" takes over the screen and nothing happens afterwords.
