I've been running my new 20" Intel iMac for 2 months now and I'm absolutely loving it.

Still - I think it would be even better with another gig of ram - but it seems so hard to find it...

As far as I know you can't remove the older 1.4.x release - you have to leave both 1.4.x and 1.5 there.

Is having 1.4 around causing any problems??

Can you not just turn the brightness of the iMac's display right down? That's what I do when watching videos on an external screen connected to my PowerBook. Use the F1 key.
