I love Panther's Finder and think it is the best Finder that Apple has ever made.

The sidebar rocks and makes the open/save dialogs very easy to use.

Yes Suitcase 11 will manage fonts for Classic too.

Be sure to remove all your fonts from all the libraries except for the one in the System.

Scrolling is just fine and plenty fast on my 17" Powerbook. Window resizing is also smooth and fast. I think you must have an older machine and/or not enough RAM.
