i was having the same problems in 10.2.2...everytime i try to open software update it unexpectedly quits. i used the stand alone 10.2.8 installer and upgraded, but it still quits on me. any ideas?

is it possible with some kind of splitter or so, to attach a second hard drive to my laptop. obviously...i would have to open up the keyboard and hang the drive off the side with the laptop opened...
