Not in my experience. I had a private email conversation about this with smeger. I couldn't get it to reset with 1.0.1 or 1.0.2d1, it was a problem on a 667MHz/256KB PB.

Prior to Apple fixing this bug, the workaround seems to be Stuffing Explorer and deleting the original. If Netscape is now the only browser on your machine, then it will be the default browser.
