You're correct. The Finder.app is corrupted.

The easiest way to resolve the issue is to use Pacifist (look on versiontracker.com) to extract a fresh Finder.app from your OS X install CD's.

as far as my problem goes, it turns out that Finder.app was corrupted. using Pacifist, i was able to reinstall the finder and now am back to normal.:D

I think I may be having a similar problem. Right after I downloaded (but didn't install) some software off of my iDisk, the Finder crashed. Normally not a big deal, but this time it wouldn't come...
