Try going to System Preferences>Displays and then check the box that says "Mirror Displays." This way both TV and the monitor will show the same thing but at least you can turn off the TV without...

Cool idea but doubt Apple would ever partner with Netflix because it would destroy their sales on movies on iTunes. Perfect solution though—Netflix, Blockbuster, they are all so slow. money is going...

I don't have the time to read all the replies right now but to my knowledge a Macbook may not be able to handle a 26" screen. I know it can't handle Apple's 30" monitor. Just a thought.
