BTW at the risk of sounding like a noob, you can remove the HDD icon from your desktop if you want to. I did and it looks great.

Sorry to break this to you, but you just can't do that. A desktop DDR2 module is a 240 pin DIMM, whereas a notebook DDR2 module is a 200 pin SO-DIMM.

Very easy. Just unscrew 3 screws, lift the cover off, and you've got access to the HDD.
