Reasons to upgrade:

VPC not working in the G5 is well documented. 7,590 Views / 83 Replies  
VPC apparently uses some G4 specific functions in it's base code... so it won't work with G5 until the next Full number revision... or so says M$.

Flash is faster on the PC, Photoshop is more responsive on the PC... and it's Macromedia and Adobe's fault! It's obviously just not optimized code.

Yes, I did reboot both machines... just to see which booted up first... the 1.42 did...

Like I said, it wasn't much of a test, but it was enough to convince me I was right thinking I should wait...

I still think the dual 1.42 is a better deal than than the 1.6, and most likely the 1.8. This is based on my real-world experience of opening apps in both the 1.6 and the 1.42, nothing more.

If you consider that the G4 that G5 was running against was a dual machine... I think that's a pretty good sign.

Basically, the Dual 2.0 machine looks to be a killer.
