The problem with the images you see on the web is that Dell likes to put that ugly as sin sound bar in them. Those things are really ugly, but the monitors without them aren't bad at all.

I think Apple likes to keep a profit margin of 25-30%, I believe Dell's is around 6%. Dell sells direct while Apple goes through dealers that's another 20-25%.
