That's all good and well unless, as in my case, HP has no new drivers and refuses to commit to creating them. In fact, to some people, they said to "buy a new printer."

To the above helpful folks: a great improvement! It does not, so far, dial on its own except on startup (even though the startup folder has nothing in it). Thanks for your help!
