RTCW should be fine. You'll always be fine with a game that comes from Blizzard or id.

TCP/IP has been around for a while in the Mac world. However, I believe the problems come from PC developers...

Mac OS X has speed issues only with old G4's and G3's. Have you ever used/played with Mac OS X on a dual, say, 800? Speed isn't really an issue...
