Nevermind!
It appears that the .plist file to the PreferencePane of this Symantec AutoProtect pane was corrupt. As soon as I deleted it and restarted, the error went away.

Actually, I did repair permissions before dumping the prefs folder. Still nothing. I even ran Norton Utilities and Disk Warrior before that just to rule out any directory problems. Still...
