I've got 10.3 here, and it is noticably faster both on my iMac 800 MHz, and my iBook 700 Mhz (G3).

The iBook gets a dramatic improvement, especially with menus. No longer do I get a beach ball...

I think what you are asking - can't be done! The iLife apps are meant to be simple - hierarchical organisation is exactly what make things complicated.
