This appears to be a common problem with the upgrade cards. Sonnet is also back ordering their cards. They may not be as problem free as was originally thought.

The newer Macs no longer record the power on time. However they do record where and when they were manufactured. The only software that I am aware of that will extract that info is Tattle Tech.
