A client came into my room with the same laptop and got on fine with Ethernet.

I'm at NYC hotel. TheoOnly have ethernet in rooms. Does not work, tried two cables and I tried another room.
MUst be settings. I ran through automatic and some of the drop downs in network setting...

Just did reboot, nothing on desktop --hardrives and dock gone -- save for application wizard symbol that does not work.
I booted into my backup os and ran DU on mac hd. said repair not necessary....

Yeah, did some test, and I guess that is the protocol. Still, even so, some don't come out full. It would be nice if you could select yes, to download as quicktime movie, and the walk away.

48 is fine, don't have energy to build own hardrives. anyway, it was a bad FW hub that went bad. never had that happen before. lot of work to isolate it to that and not blame it on hardware/software....
